One league, serving one community

A historic merger brings together Fairless Baseball and Softball Community.

The Navarre Baseball and Softball Association (NBSA) and Fairless Youth Baseball and Softball Association (FYBSA) have agreed to merge into the newly formed Falcon Baseball and Softball Association (FBSA). The newly formed league will be providing baseball and softball programs for residents of the Fairless Local School District that range from ages 4-18.

This historic merger will mark the first a single unified organization will provide a baseball and softball program in the Fairless area. Previously each community offered their own program, including the Beach City & Wilmot Baseball/Softball, Brewster Baseball/Softball, which later combined to form FYBSA, and Navarre Baseball and Softball Association.

Josh Witting, head coach of the Fairless Varsity Baseball program, was extremely excited to hear of the merger. “Both Navarre and Fairless youth programs have done an extraordinary job with their programs, and now working together, it can only get better.” Witting continued, “I look forward to working with the Falcon Baseball and Softball Association for years to come to work towards giving our athletes a great opportunity to build friendships and strive to win championships.”

The combined organization expects to field 250-300 kids in the coming year on over 20 fields. FBSA will be offering programs for all skill levels, including recreational/community ball and select/travel programs.

The board of Falcon Baseball and Softball will have representation from the previous NBSA and FYBSA board. Vance Weeks will serve as president, Abe Highben Vice President, Charles Shafer VP of Softball, Brett Long VP of Baseball, Jessica Webb Treasurer, and Bryan Gregorich interim-Communications director. Quarterly board meetings will be open to the public, starting in the 4th quarter of 2020. The first meeting will take place at 7:00 PM on 11/15 at the Brewster Moose.

The newly formed league is currently seeking coaches, assistant coaches, board committee members, umpires, and field maintenance volunteers.
